Vitamin D3 Supplementation in Hypertensive Patients Does Not Lower Systemic Inflammation Markers
Vitamin D3 supplementation in hypertensive patients with insufficient vitamin D concentrations has no significant effect in lowering markers of systemic inflammation, reported a latest study.
The key findings were as follows:
- Post-hoc analysis using analysis of co-variance (ANCOVA) revealed a mean treatment effect for none of the respective outcome measures.
- No significant results were detected in various subgroup analyses.
Thus, supplementation with vitamin D in hypertensive patients has no significant impact on lowering systemic inflammation markers.
